Ductless HVAC Systems

You may have heard some buzz lately regarding ductless HVAC systems. There’s a lot of information out there, but where does one begin? Without asking you to take an HVAC course yourself, we’d like to break down the basics for you.

How Does It Work?

Ductless systems are a super-efficient way to heat and cool your home one room at a time. Traditional systems involve large setups placed outside the home. While this way of doing things absolutely works, it can waste lots of energy (and your hard-earned money) by pushing air into the entire house.

With a ductless system, compact units located inside the home work to efficiently cool and heat your space, on a room-by-room basis. Each small unit works independently, delivering warm or cool air to each zone, on an as-needed basis.

Ductless systems are comprised of multi or single-zone systems. Multi-zone units are perfect for larger homes and offices whereas single-zone systems are best suited for small offices and homes.

Is There A Benefit To Switching To A Ductless?

Switching to a Ductless system will reduce your overall HVAC costs substantially. With utility costs constantly on the rise, switching to the most current technology available and getting rid of an older traditional duct setup is a good way to prevent wasteful monthly expenses. Think of all the times you’ve turned up the heat because you felt a chill at your desk. The rest of the house also warmed up, even though you only needed it warmer in that one room. A traditional duct setup runs and runs until the entire home reaches the temperature you’ve selected, even though you only needed it warmer in one specific space. This is not only expensive but super wasteful—depleting the earth’s natural resources. Additionally, there are federal, state, and local incentives available for businesses and homeowners who switch to a ductless HVAC system.
